Carrier is seeking a highly motivated Data Analytics Intern to work with a cross functional development team to identify and implement areas of improvement in the quality data analytics. The candidate will have responsibility for the following in addition to adhoc assignments as needed.

  • Work with Quality, Business Information Systems, Digital and Marketing Data Analytics to ensure all aspects of the businesses data are being considered
  • Help with the evaluation of analytics software packages
  • Work within Webi to develop data visualization storyboards for a number of personas
  • Works effectively with various functions/disciplines
  • Demonstrates the ability to work within a project team
  • Correlate system data from the thermostats to system failures and identify environmental or systemic trends causing failures. Top component failures to look at are compressors, fan coil blower motors and inverters.
  • Work with IT team on service bench bill of materials / part verification project phase 1 to determine root cause of part verifications not being able to be performed so that issues can be fixed within our system.
  • Creating, correcting (as issues from above are found) and maintaining the part categorization table that is vital to the success of the service bench bill of materials / part verification project. This is a large amount of work due to the volume of past and present parts and working to ensure accurate part categorizations. It requires a lot of research into WindChill to accurately categorize the parts and will require a lot of correction as we uncover issues once we turn the backend of Service Bench on.
  • Create WLC storyboards for all of our main components like the tab for compressors in the current story board.
  • Experience or Knowledge of programming language such as Java or Python is a plus.


  • Responsible for small projects or multiple tasks within functional discipline
  • Makes significant contribution to their team by applying their knowledge of the discipline
  • Works with moderate guidance on projects with short-term focus

  • Understanding of Lean / Continuous Improvement
  • Understanding Root Cause Analysis
  • Intermediate level skills with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
  • Organized with strong attention to detail, while managing multiple priorities
  • Knowledge of SharePoint (preferred)

  • Expected degree in Engineering, Data Science, Data Analytics, Information Technology
  • Completed classes equivalent to sophomore/junior year of college (preferred)
