VMware Accelerate & Advisory Services (AAS) invests in strategic accounts to support our customers with their IT strategies and their long-term IT planning. In EMEA we work closely with account teams and sales leadership to help drive adoption of VMware solutions into the strategic accounts segment of VMware’s Business, through supporting customer engagements and discussions. We do this by deploying a specific focus on strategy and business cases. We work to provide perspective and mentorship on long-term business/technology strategy, investments and innovation drawing upon our depth and breadth of technical and business management knowledge.


The core role of the Intern is to provide support to the AAS team in EMEA, reporting directly to the Senior Manager of NEMEA, based in the UK. This role spans a broad set of activities which improve the coordination, communication and promotion of AAS in EMEA. This role will let you engage in being responsible for VMware Enterprise go-to-market strategy, building plans and creatively finding solutions to problems. In addition you will be involved with AAS as we help with sales execution and value selling disciplines including strategy, benchmarking and value modelling. You will receive mentorship, feedback, and coaching from the team to help develop your understanding of business development and consulting skills in a technology environment. You will also have the opportunity to learn and develop skills and events, and drive your own self-learning on VMware technologies and professional skills. The primary area of focus for this role is to support the Advisory Services' mission. This includes supporting and improving the tracking and measurement of AAS engagements, as well as driving improvement of AAS offerings and achievements.

  • You will work towards coordinating and assisting in facilitating internal workshops designed to improve account planning and team engagement on key accounts in EMEA
  • You will help with internal analysis and reporting around AAS activities, while contributing to team sharing and calls
  • Assist in preparation of executive presentations and attend leadership meetings where appropriate
  • Support EMEA Marketing with the leader of AAS when appropriate
  • Conduct industry/sector research and analysis
  • Be part of the team and our strong culture of intern development
  • Own production of weekly reporting of AAS activities to key individuals
  • Collaborate with international teams and undertake travelling
  • Responsible for developing and delivering the internal portal for promoting AAS to the EMEA field organisation
  • Assist in the maintenance and administration of the AAS Portfolio of Services and Engagement Framework


  • Motivated and organized person who is a self-starter and can multi-task
  • Demonstrate interest and skills in business development/sales/marketing
  • Passionate about building business use cases
  • Excellent verbal and written skills and passion in communicating
  • Familiarity with business strategy ideas would be an advantage but not essential
  • Full driving license would be preferred as some travel might be required
  • Currently undertaking degree-level study
  • Passionate and independent in their ideas individual who enjoys collaboration
  • Ability to think creatively and take ownership of tasks
  • A clear understanding of the power of diversity and inclusion in modern high performance organisational culture
  • Additional European languages skills is an advantage
  • Any experience of living or working across country, language or culture is a plus
