Sample Interview Questions

Questions You Can Ask

Asking questions at an interview shows that you are genuinely interested in the job and have the intellectual curiosity that is required to do well. But very basic questions about the company can suggest that you haven’t done your homework.

Use your background research into the company to ask questions whose answers you will not be able to get from their website, look for answers that are not already common knowledge. The best questions invite conversation and help build a rapport with the interviewer.

Here are some examples. This is not a complete list and your questions should be tailored to each interview that you go for.

1. What is a typical day like at the office?
2. Is this a new position? If not what is the career path of people in this position?
3. What is the best thing about working here?
4. Who does a person in this position report to?
5. Does this position require travel or relocation?
6. What happens next? When can I expect to hear from you?
