Ritu Banga is co-founder of Zoomdojo, a college to career initiative.
She is a trustee of Marymount School, New York. From 2007 to 2011, she was on the board of the Asian University for Women Support Foundation and played a key role in the launch of this university in Bangladesh. She has also served on the Advisory Committee of the American Institute of Architects New York. Previously, Ritu was a trustee at the International School of Brussels; and President, Joint Schools Association, New York, a non-profit organization supported by the Parents’ Associations of independent schools in New York City.
Ritu has conducted workshops and participated in panel discussions relating to Entrepreneurship, Careers, Women in the Workplace, Technology, Finance, Social Enterprise, Consulting, Medicine, Veterans careers and Philanthropy. She has also led discussions on 21st century careers at the intersection of disciplines such as art and technology, the arts and medicine, and technology and education. Some universities where she has participated in programs are: Columbia University, City University of New York - Hunter College, Cornell University, New York University, Harvard University, Vanderbilt University, University of Pennsylvania, University of Toronto, Tshingua University, Beijing, and the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad.
She has advised Global China Connection, a student organization with chapters in over 50 universities around the world, on their annual and chapter conferences in the USA; and she has advised the South Asia Business Association at Columbia University on their India Business Conference for the past several years. Ritu was a keynote speaker at the Lionet Career Expo in Toronto, Canada; and also delivered a keynote address at the University of Toronto’s Rottman School of Management’s Entrepreneurship conference in 2013.
Ritu is committed to access to success for inner city public school students from high school through college to career. She has worked as a volunteer college counselor at the La Guardia Community College High School, Queens, New York. At Zoomdojo, together with her co-founder, Carol Rattray, she has done pro bono career workshops at the New York Hall of Science, South Asia Youth in Action, and the Bronx Armory.
Ritu is a graduate of Delhi University and the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. She started her career in product management, marketing and sales. She was then an early entrepreneur with Point of View, her strategic consulting firm, which worked with global companies and NGO’s entering India as it opened its economy in the early 90’s.
